Charlotte’s Web CBD (CW Hemp): A Trusted Brand
Charlotte’s Web CBD (a.k.a. CW Hemp) is one of the best-known CBD companies on the market, thanks to their eponymous strain of cannabis.
Charlotte’s Web is a CBD-dominant variety of cannabis which contains negligible amounts of THC. That has made it an attractive choice for parents of children with serious health conditions. But with a well-established reputation for quality and consistency, Charlotte’s Web is also popular with adults (not to mention pets).

About Charlotte’s Web CBD
In 2012, seven brothers from Colorado—Joel, Jesse, Jon, Jordan, Jared, Josh and Austin Stanley—developed a low-THC, high-CBD strain of cannabis.
Their efforts gained widespread attention thanks to Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s 2013 documentary WEED. This program followed the story of Charlotte Figi, a little girl with Dravet syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy that begins in childhood. Charlotte was having 300 seizures a week, and her parents had tried dozens of different medications and alternative treatments.
As a last resort they decided to try cannabis, and ended up using the Stanley Brother’s strain. Charlotte’s condition improved immediately, and her seizures dropped from 300 per week to just one a week.
In honor of Charlotte, the brothers named their strain Charlotte’s Web. The media attention around Gupta’s documentary made Charlotte’s Web the most widely recognized brand in the CBD industry.
Unfortunately, there’s very little information about the quantities of CBD and other cannabinoids that you should expect to find in each product.
Our main frustration was that lab results for products were available upon request, but only with a batch number for the specific product. That’s not helpful for a new customer who is trying to decide what to buy.
Our bottle was packaged in a brown corrugated box, and wrapped in earth-friendly brown kraft paper. It’s a nice change from the bubble wrap that many other companies use for shipping.
One warning, though: we’ve noticed that among the negative reviews for Charlotte’s Web that we found around the web, slow shipping was one of the chief complaints. We saw multiple customers recommend ordering from a third-party vendor in order to get products in a timely manner.
The company’s abundance of caution around FDA regulations means that it’s hard to get info about cannabinoid content, though.
Charlotte’s Web is one of the most recognized and trusted CBD brands around. That’s because they’ve won the loyalty of many parents of children with epilepsy and other hard-to-treat conditions.
